Photovoltaics
Design, install and maintain solar PV systems — the backbone of the Kalahari's booming solar economy.
Drones. Robotics. 3D printing. Code. Cyber security. Our new Fourth Industrial Revolution Centre is built, equipped and ready — and in 2027 we open the doors to a generation of digital-age makers, technicians and problem-solvers.
The equipment is already here — robotics rigs, 3D printers, drone kits, networking labs and solar arrays, installed and waiting. From 2027, NCR TVET learners will train hands-on with the exact technologies reshaping mining, energy, agriculture and logistics across the Northern Cape. This is where ambition meets the machines of the future.

Eight future-facing fields, one centre. Each is a short course designed to make you job-ready for the digital economy.
Design, install and maintain solar PV systems — the backbone of the Kalahari's booming solar economy.
Green-energy fundamentals, battery storage and off-grid systems for one of the sunniest regions on earth.
Build, program and operate robotic arms and automated systems driving modern mining and manufacturing.
Code from the ground up — logic, web and the software that powers every smart machine and app.
Set up, connect and secure the networks that hold the digital world together — from LANs to the cloud.
Turn digital designs into real parts with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping.
Fly, map and inspect with drones — from precision agriculture to mine surveying and aerial imaging. Master the four rotors and rule the skies.
Step inside the matrix — protect networks, data and systems from attack. One of the new basics of the digital economy.
The centre will keep growing — more future-tech disciplines will be added as the digital economy evolves.
A glimpse of the equipment waiting for our first cohort in 2027.

It's the fusion of the physical and digital worlds — automation, smart machines, connectivity and clean energy. The Northern Cape is right in the middle of it, and these are the skills that will define the next decade of work.
Mines, factories and farms increasingly run on automated systems. Knowing how to build and maintain them is a career, not a buzzword.
The Kalahari is a global solar hotspot. Photovoltaic and solar skills put you at the front of South Africa's energy transition.
From drone surveying to networks and code, the digital layer sits on top of every modern industry — and it needs skilled people.
State-of-the-art equipment for all eight disciplines is installed and the lab is fitted out — the hard part is done.
Facilitators complete their accreditation and the first short-course timetable is finalised and announced.
Our first cohort of 4IR learners starts training — the Northern Cape's next generation of digital-age makers.
NCR TVET's 4IR Centre opens its doors in 2027 — bringing robotics, solar, drones, 3D printing, networking, cyber security and code to the heart of the Northern Cape. Watch this space.
